The beautifully designed and constructed Jawahar Kala Kendra is a multi art centre located in Jaipur. The structure is built in many sections that are used for various art related activities, there is an amphitheatre, auditorium, library, art display rooms, cafeteria, a small hostel and art studio. The art centre hosts a theatre festival every year. Many famous artists who are recognised in the theatre world started their career from the stage at The Jawahar Kala Kendra. JKK, as it is popularly known as, was designed by world renowned Indian architect Charles Correa in 1986. Correa is known for his contemporary, extraordinary and inspiring designs around the world. As one moves from one section to another in this architectural marvel, one is left mesmerised by how beautifully the architect has balanced the practicality, utility and aesthetics here.
